Wilson Named UMass/Dinn Bros. Tri-Athlete Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. - Junior thrower Lisa Wilson was one of three athletes named UMass/Dinn Bros. Athlete of the Week after a spectacular weekend for UMass athletics. Wilson notched her first career win at the Atlantic 10 Championships over the weekend with a discus toss of 47.25 meters (155-00 feet). Wilson also notched a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw with a distance of 52.09 (170-11 feet), and a second-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 44-09.75.
The Holden, Mass. native now holds the all-time UMass record in discus with a distance of 156-02 and the shot put as she notched a distance of 44-11.5, both marks were achieved earlier this season.
Wilson has already qualified for the ECAC Championships and will compete in the hammer, discus and shot put at those championships in two weeks.
