AMHERST, Mass. - Football linebacker Tyler Holmes was named UMass Athlete of the Week on Monday November 16. Holmes had 14 tackles in Saturday's 17-14 loss to James Madison University, including one tackle for loss and one forced fumble. Holmes leads the team in overall tackles with 44 solo and 57 assists for a total of 101. Starting in nine of the ten games this season Homes has been an integral component of the UMass defense.

Holmes will be recognized at this weeks' UMass Sports Luncheon held in the Campus Center 10 009 and will feature guest speakers football head coach Kevin Morris, men's basketball head coach Derek Kellogg, and women's swimming coach Bob Newcomb..
