It's Friday and that means Hockey Night in Western Mass as the Mass Attack takes on Maine tonight in the Mullins Center. Don't forget, tonight is country western night at the Mullins Center so bring out the boots, cowboy hats, and please, more cow bell! Football leaves campus today for tomorrow's huge game against No. 1 and defending NCAA champ Richmond. Football isn't the only team taking on Richmond. The No. 16 field hockey team hosts the Spiders at Garber Field today at 3 p.m. JTAM has stories on these games and more.

Two of the biggest surprises of the football season will be the guests on Thursday's Bud Light UMass Football Show at the Hangar Pub & Grille Come out to hear from linebacker Eric Dickson and offensive lineman Jared Chivers along with Coach Kevin Morris. Also the scoreboard at McGuirk Stadium has been installed. Chat with Matt Irwin today at 11 a.m.

Wednesday means its UMass Sports Luncheon time. Please join us at 12:15 p.m. at the Mullins Center's Massachusetts Room on the third floor as men's basketball coach Derek Kellogg will speak to fans and take questions in previewing the 2009-10 season. Football coach Kevin Morris will also speak. Tailback Jonathan Hernandez and goalie Paul Dainton will be honored as the Co-Athletes of the Week.

The old scoreboard at McGuirk Stadium is finally coming down. On Monday night the entire board had been removed in the start of the installation of the new videoboard was underway. We are coming off one of the best weekends in UMass athletics in recent memory with the hockey team knocking off defending national champion No. 2 Boston University 3-2 on Friday night and the football team handing No. 4 New Hampshire its first loss of the season on Saturday, winning 23-17. JTAM has plenty of stories on the Minutemen's successful teams. JTAM also has a look at some alums in the pro ranks including Stephane Lasme, who played against the New York Knicks on Sunday.
