UMass Skiing Heads To North Conway For UConn Carnival This Weekend

AMHERST, Mass. - UMass Skiing will compete in its first slalom event of the season this weekend when they travel to North Conway, N.H. to participate in the UConn Carnival. Last season, the Minutemen placed second while the Minutewomen skied to a second place finish. The Men are currently tied for second in the Conference Standings with the Women tied with Plymouth State for fourth place.

Both teams are coming off successful opening weekends following the Giant Slalom at the Colby-Sawyer College Carnival. The Men finished second on Friday before placing third on Saturday. The Minutewomen placed fifth on Saturday after a third place finish on Friday.

At last year's UConn Carnival, the Minutemen were led by Andrew Hawes, who skied to a fifth and seventh place finish during the weekend. Ian Hohmeister skied to an eighth place finish in Day One of the Carnival for the Men. Jamie Taloumis placed fifth and third throughout the weekend for the Minutewomen.
