UMass Athletics Announces Consultative Committee For Football Coaching Search

AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts has announced the consultative committee which will be involved in the search for a new head football coach at UMass. Director of Athletics John McCutcheon will oversee and chair the committee which features members of the university community in various areas. The committee consists of Tom Milligan, Glenn Wong, Elaine Sortino, Rod Warnick, Esther Terry and Robert Foote.
Milligan is the Executive Vice Chancellor for University Relations.
Wong is UMass' Faculty Athletic Representative and a professor in the Sport Management Program's Isenberg School of Management.
Sortino is UMass Athletics' Senior Women's Administrator in addition to serving as an Associate Athletic Director for Sport Programs and Student Services. She is in her 30th year as the head softball coach at UMass.
Warnick is the Co-Chair of the UMass Athletic Council. He is the head of the Hospitality & Tourism Management Department at UMass as well as serving as a professor in the unit.
Terry is the Interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Campus Life.
Foote is a UMass Athletic Hall of Famer who played football and lacrosse at UMass. He earned three letters as an offensive & defensive tackle on the UMass football team in 1958, 1960 and 1961. He became only the second All-America selection in school history during the 1961 season.
