UMass Loses To Brown On The Road, 6-1

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The UMass Women's Tennis team went on the road to play Brown yesterday for the fifteenth match-up between the two teams. The competition between UMass and Brown began in 1980 and the Brown Bears have won every match-up. This game was no exception and Brown took it winning all but one of the points.
Candynce Boney (Las Vegas, Nev.) won the No. 2 singles match up in the lone win on the day. This is her 10th team-leading singles win on the season with seven of them coming in dual meet play. The next on the list in team wins this season is Masha Pozar (Ljubljana, Slovenia) who is now tied for fourth place with Liesl Sitton in career singles wins. She only needs two more to move into third place.
With her four doubles wins in this spring season, Pozar has also moved closer to taking the lead in career doubles wins as she is now only three shy of being tied for the lead.
The Minutewomen are back in action March 8 against Siena in the first match-up between the two teams at noon.
