• Matt Lawrence had his fifth 100-yard rushing game of the season, totaling 110 yards on 25 carries.
• J.J. Moore had seven receptions to pass Brandon London (148) for second place on the UMass career receptions list with 149.
• Liam Coen tied the UMass record in career touchdown passes with 51, tying Todd Bankhead, who had 51 in 1998-99.
• Michael Meggett had his first career interception at the end of the first half when he picked off Anthony Orio in the end zone.
• Jason Hatchell surpassed the 300-tackle mark in the first quarter. He finished the game with 12, giving him 308 for his career.
• David Burris had two sacks to give him 21.5 for his career and place him sixth all time at UMass, passing Rich Kane (1988-91) and Eric Cregan (1978-81), who both had 21.
• Courtney Robinson had his third interception of the season early in the fourth quarter.
• Northeastern scored its first points against UMass on an Anthony Orio touchdown run with 7:01 remaining in the second quarter. They were the first since a Miro Kesic 21-yard field goal with 13:23 left in the fourth quarter in 2004, a time span of 156:22.
