UMass Head Coach Don Brown's Opening Statement:
"It was a hard-fought football game, very physical as it always is against Northeastern. Our guys really came out, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Liam was hot; he threw the ball as well as he could and the numbers reflected it. We had four drives in the first half, every one of them culminating in points (three touchdowns and one field goal). Defensively, Northeastern did a good job of throwing the ball early. They had 225 yards at the half; they had a couple nice spot throws on us. We did a really good job of creating turnovers. They had not turned the ball over very much, and we were able to get them today. Their tight end is big; they put him one-on-one against Sean (Smalls). Sean really had to adjust on the sides of the body. Sean ended up negating the slants and taking that piece away. We put enough pressure on them in the second half."

Brown on Woodward and turnovers:
"Scotty went in and did a good job of moving the club in the second half. Unfortunately, the penalty bug came up and bugged us again. We had no major gaffs in terms of taking care of the football. We did dodge one bullet. We could've had a punt blocked, and we did end up getting positive yardage out of it to the 40 yard line. That was a good thing, but, that's unacceptable-we need to clean that up. Well-played game, homecoming, big win. Just glad to be 6-1, that puts the winning season in the column which is an important piece for us. We're going to enjoy this one tonight."

Quarterback Liam Coen on his injury:
"We're doing all the right things: rehabbing, knee brace, tape job. It's not my luck right now. I'm happy with how the guys played. Last week, we were sitting here talking about how we were quiet and sluggish. This week, we were quiet, but focused. We came out really focused, executing really well, and that was a reflection on a great week of practice. I've just got to ice, and keep getting treatment, and it will be fine."

Quarterback Scott Woodward on getting game action:
"Every time I get in there, I get more and more comfortable with the offense. When I played in the second half, we couldn't get it going. I take the blame for that. We shot ourselves in the foot sometimes. I've got to put the ball in the endzone. The defense played great, Brandon Collier held it down."

Defensive Lineman Brandon Collier on his fumble recovery:
"I was just running my stunt and I saw the ball on the ground. We were in the redzone, so I didn't want to try too much, I just fell on the ball. But if I could've done it over again, I probably would have scooped and scored."

Wide Receiver J.J. Moore on his emergence as a tremendous weapon for Coen:
"Every game, I continue to feel more comfortable. We're doing a good job executing, so the quarterback, offensive line, and I can get comfortable and gel. We'll [continue to] get better each week."
