HOUSTON, Texas - UMass All-American tailback Steve Baylark picked up 32 yards on seven carries for the East team in the Dell East-West Shrine Game on Saturday at Houston's Reliant Stadium. He also played on special teams as the West beat the East, 21-3.
Baylark has spent the entire week working out and practicing in Houston with every NFL team represented with scouts. UMass's second all-time leading rusher was coached by Hall of Famer Don Shula in the game.
"I amd very excited and can't wait to play the game," Baylark said on Saturday morning prior to the game. "I have had several interviews with teams and had a good week working out for them. I will be used on special teams and some at running back in the game."
Baylark finished his senior season with 1,960 rushing yards in leading the Minutemen to a 13-2 record and the NCAA Championship game.
