CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Massachusetts quarterback Liam Coen, who sparked the Minuteman offense with a season high in passing, and Western New England quarterback Jon Tallerico, who had a record-tying performance for the Golden Bears, were honored with Boston Globe Gold Helmet Awards Wednesday at the New England Football Writers luncheon at Harvard's Dillon Field House.
Coen, the Division I-AA Gold Helmet winner, was named Atlantic-10 offensive player of the week after he became the first A-10 quarterback to throw for more than 300 yards this season with 350 passing yards in a 31-21 victory over Villanova.
