James Ihedigbo Named UMass/Dinn Bros. Athlete Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. - Senior strong safety James Ihedigbo (Amherst, Mass.) has been named Atlantic 10 Co-Defensive Player of the Week and UMass/Dinn Bros. Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 10. Ihedigbo led a strong defensive effort by the Minutemen with eight tackles, a pair of forced fumbles, fumble recovery and a sack in the 21-20 loss to Navy.
Ihedigbo is tied for second in the A-10 in sacks with two on the season; he led the A-10 in sacks for the first eight weeks of last season. His two forced fumbles place him first in the A-10 in that category.
UMass travels to Villanova this Saturday with a start time of 1 p.m. The game will be broadcasted live on the CN8 network and streamed live on the internet.
