AMHERST, Mass. - In the annual College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Publications Contest, five UMass media guides finished among the top 10 nationally, while five earned top regional honors. The UMass media relations office produces the media guides along with posters, schedule cards, and game programs for all 23 NCAA intercollegiate sports.

This was UMass' best showing both nationally and regionally in the last seven years (CoSIDA's contest results are archived to 1999-00). In that span, the UMass football guide has been voted among the top-5 every year but one.

Leading the way for UMass once again was the football guide which took fourth nationally among Division I-AA programs.

Alongside football, the hockey media guide finished sixth nationally, the men's lacrosse guide took seventh, the men's basketball guide brought home eighth and the men's soccer guide finished 10th overall.

Regionally, the men's basketball guide was voted No. 1 in the Northeast along with the softball, women's tennis, men's track and field, and women's soccer.

Fans can order copies of any media guide by contacting the Media Relations Office at 413-545-2439 or by logging on to www.umassathletics.com.
