UMass Edges Binghamton, 4-3 In Women's Tennis

ITHACA, N.Y. -The University of Massachusetts women's tennis team (2-2) edged Binghamton (1-3) by a score of 4-3 Saturday night in Ithaca, NY.
In singles competition, Michele Spiess won at the No. 1 spot 6-2, 7-6 (7-3). Masha Pozar was able to defeat her opponent at the No. 2 spot by a score of 6-3, 6-3. Stephanie Gimenez and Jana Bartoloni were also able to win their singles matches at No. 5 and 6.
Michele Spiess and Masha Pozar teamed up to win the only doubles match for UMass. When it was all said and done, UMass won 4-3, avenging last week's loss to Army. The Minutewomen will be back on short rest Sunday morning as they take on Cornell at 10 a.m.
