Three Minutemen Named Football All-Americans

AMHERST, Mass. - Seniors James Ihedigbo and Alex Miller were named to the Associated Press All-American First Team on Wednesday. Tailback Steve Baylark was named an AP Second-Team All-American. Ihedigbo was also named to the Walter Camp All-America Team while Miller is on the AFCA All-America Team.
With the national championship game left, Ihedigbo has been involved in 66 tackles this season, 30 of them solo, and has forced four fumbles. He has two interceptions, five sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss, as well as five pass breakups.
Miller anchored an offensive line that helped open holes for Baylark, who enters the title game with 1,827 rushing yards.
Appalachian State placed four players on the All-America first team - defensive end Marquis Murrell, safety Jeremy Wiggins, and offensive linemen Kenny Brown and Michael Isenhour. The university from Boone, N.C., also produced two third-team members in running back Kevin Richardson, who led the nation with 27 touchdowns, and tight end Daniel Bettis.
The Atlantic 10 Conference placed 11 players on the All-America teams - five each on the first and second squads, and one on the third team. New Hampshire receiver David Ball, Delaware tight end Ben Patrick, and Maine defensive end Matt King joined Ihedigbo and Miller on the first team.
