Hofstra Head Coach Dave Cohen on game
As far as today's game is concerned, I was proud of our effort, but I think our lack of consistency and execution came back to bite us in the tail. Offensively, we had some great individual performance, but it was our inability to run the football and convert on drives is what hurt us.
UMass Head Coach Don Brown on season milestones
Today, we put forth a workmen-like effort. The bottom line is we are excited about the milestones we have achieved. We won nine in a row for the first time in school history. We are the first team since 1997 to go 8-0 in the Atlantic 10. After you realize the grind we have gone through, and the bullets we have dodged over the season, you understand just how difficult it is to accomplish this feat.
James Ihedigbo on role of the defense
Coach calls us in after every sudden change, and tells us to put a smile on our face and go to work. We are here to play defense. If the offense makes a turnover, we go back out there and try to turn it around.
Liam Coen on turnovers
When a turnover happens, you have to bounce back. I think that has a lot to say about the character of our team. If we make a mistake, they have our back. If they give up some points, we have their backs. We have to keep that type of momentum going and we will be fine. We are going to have to focus next week and keep going.
