UMass Heads To Maine On Saturday; Looks To Avenge 2004 Loss To Black Bears
• The Minutemen head to Orono on Saturday to face the Maine Black Bears who have started out the season with three straight losses. UMass looks to avenge last season's 3-1 loss to Maine in Amherst.
• UMass is coming off a split to open the season as they fell to Michigan State and defeated Michigan in the MSU/Radisson Fall Classic over the Labor Day Weekend.
• Historically, UMass is 25-12-1 all-time against Maine in a series that dates back to 1965. UMass defeated the Black Bears 5-0 in that first meeting.
• Maine's win last season was the first for the Black Bears since 1998.
• The two teams did not play each other in 2003 which was the first time since 1990 the two sides had not met in a season.
