Football Receives Newest Commitment

Tony Cina has been accepted into the University of Massachusetts and will play football for the Minutemen in the 2005 season.

Cina, a 6'3", 245 lbs TE/DL, hails from Weymouth, Mass., where he played four seasons at Whitman-Hanson Regional. A three-year starter on offense and defense, Cina caught 12 passes for 176 yards and registered six sacks among his 57 tackles, while causing four fumbles and recovering two.

Cina was selected to play in the Shriner's All-Star game as a senior, as well as being recognized as Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic, Brockton Enterprise All-Scholastic, and a two-time WATD Player of the Week.

Cina also serves as the captain of the basketball and track team at Whitman-Hanson.
