Freeman Named A-10 Rookie Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts sophomore forward Rashaun Freeman (Schenectady, N.Y.) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week in men's basketball, for games from Jan. 4 10. This marks the fourth time this season Freeman has received the award from the Atlantic 10.
In a pair of games for the Minutemen last week, Freeman averaged 15.5 points and 8.0 rebounds. Against La Salle on Jan. 7, he opened the week by scoring 12 points and pulling down six rebounds. Then against George Washington on Jan. 10, Freeman posted his fifth double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 boards. For the week, he hit 10 of 21 (.476) shots form the field, while connecting on 11 of 13 (.846) attempts from the free throw line.
The Minutemen (5-8 overall, 0-2 Atlantic 10) return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 14, when they travel to Saint Bonaventure for a 7:00 p.m. game.
