Peebler Named A-10 Offensive Player of the Week

AMHERST, Mass. - Junior wide receiver Jason Peebler (Modesto, Calif.) was named the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week for his performance this past week in No. 4 UMass' 30-17 come-from-behind victory over Richmond. Peebler caught seven passes and a career-high three touchdowns totaling 143 yards, recording his third 100-yard receiving game of the season.
The win was UMass' (9-1, 7-0 Atlantic 10) eighth consecutive victory of the season and tied a school record previously set five times, most recently in 1999. Peebler, who was also named A-10 Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 19, leads the Minutemen with 36 catches totaling 736 yards and eight touchdowns. He leads the conference averaging 92.0 receiving yards per game, a figure which ranks him 19th nationally. Peebler has also returned nine kickoffs for 186 yards (20.7 per) and totals 920 yards of total offense on the season.
UMass returns to action this Saturday, November 15, in search of its school-record ninth straight win. The Minutemen will travel to Delaware for an Atlantic 10 Conference game with kickoff slated for 12:00 p.m. The contest will be televised live by The Football Network and shown locally on Fox Sports New England.
