Koegel Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

AMHERST, Mass. - Freshman kicker Christian Koegel (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for his performance in No. 7 UMass' 31-17 victory over Rhode Island this past Saturday.

Koegel averaged a personal-best 47.5 yards on four punts including two inside the 20-yard line. He also boomed a pair of season-high 57-yard punts, and is currently averaging 39.6 yard per punt.

UMass returns to action this Saturday, Nov. 29 as it travels to Colgate for the first round of the Division I-AA Playoffs.
