Cain Named UMass Athlete Of The Week

AMHERST, Mass. - Senior Jeremy Cain (Tamarac, Fla.) was named the UMass / Dinn Bros. Athlete of the Week for his performance in Massachusetts' 51-45 triple-overtime loss last Saturday, announced by the UMass Sports Luncheon Committee yesterday.
Cain made 11 tackles, including nine solo stops in Saturday's contest. He recorded three tackles for a loss of 10 yards, sacked the quarterback one time for a loss of eight yards, and forced a fumble. The tri-captain is the team's second-leading tackler on the year, posting 97 total tackles, 66 solo, and leads the team in tackles for a loss, with 12 for 60 yards. Cain has also tallied three sacks, one interception, three forced fumbles and 12 quarterback hurries on the year.
Cain and the No. 6 ranked football team will be in action next on Saturday, Nov. 22, as they take on Rhode Island at McGuirk Alumni Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 12:00 p.m.
