Kimener Named Academic All-American

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Senior linebacker Mark Kimener (Oakton, Va.) has been named to the CoSida District 1 Academic All-American Team, as announced this morning by CoSida. Kimener has maintained a career grade point average of 3.36 as a Sociology major.
Kimener has previously been honored for his academic work, but this award marks the first time he has earned an All-American accolade. He was named to the Academic All-Atlantic 10 team as a junior and a sophomore, and has earned a spot on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll every year.
On the field, Kimener is leading the team in tackles, making 102, including a team-leading 71 solo stops. He has sacked the quarterback three times for a loss of 19 yards, has made nine tackles for a loss totaling 34 yards, and has forced two fumbles. Kimener has also been very effective defending the pass, picking off two, and breaking up two other pass attempts.
Kimener and the No. 3 ranked Minutemen (9-1 overall, 7-0 Atlantic 10) return to action on Saturday, Nov. 15, as they travel to Delaware to take on the No. 6 ranked Blue Hens (9-1 overall, 6-1 Atlantic 10).
