Minutemen To Face Globetrotters In Springfield

AMHERST, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts men's basketball team will open the 2003-2004 season with an exhibition game against the Harlem Globetrotters at the Springfield Civic Center. The game, presented by the Republican and News 40, will take place on Sunday, November 9, at 2:00 p.m.
The contest will be the first ever meeting between the Minutemen and the Globetrotters, who began playing competitive games against collegiate opponents in the fall of 2000. Other schools scheduled to meet the Globetrotters this year include North Dakota (Oct. 27), Michigan State (Nov. 2), Siena (Nov. 4), Syracuse (Nov. 11), Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne (Nov. 13) and Texas-El Paso (Nov. 15).
Tickets to the game are available for $20.00 each. In addition, a Family Fun Pack is available for $50.00, including four tickets, four Cokes and four hot dogs.
