Men's Tennis Falls To Lynn, 9-0

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The University of Massachusetts men's tennis team (0-10) was swept by Lynn University (4-5), the 12th-ranked team in Division II, 9-0, this afternoon to open up its spring break trip.
The Fighting Knights swept all three doubles matches and then posted six straight-set singles victories for the win.
Martin Carenko and Sergio Sancho defeated seniors Todd Champeau (Waukesha, Wisc.) and Steve Prisco (Dedham, Mass.) by the score of 9-7 at No. 1 doubles. Raphael Almeida and Toby Croke were 8-2 winners over junior Eric Reblin (San Antonio, Texas) and freshman Scott Sans Leeb (Lafayette, Calif.) at No. 2. In the final doubles match, Pedro Mugica and Stefan Naughton posted an 8-5 win over junior Jed Greenberg (Needham, Mass.) and freshman Reid Stubbs (Fort Myers, Fla.).
Carenko defeated Prisco at No. 1 singles, 6-3 and 6-3. At No. 2, Almeida beat Reblin 6-2 and 6-0. Mugica posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 over Champeau. Peter Veselovsky defeated Sans Leeb 6-2 and 6-3, while Naughton was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over Stubbs at Nos. 4 and 5, respectively. In the final singles match, Oscar Argaez defeated Greenberg by the scores of 6-0 and 6-0.
The Minutemen will play at Stetson tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.
