Three Minutewomen Named To A-10 Academic Team

Amherst, Mass. - Three Massachusetts student-athletes were named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference teams on Monday. Senior Sarah Bohonowicz (South Deerfield, Mass.) and sophomore Adrianne Monaco (Oxford, N.Y.) were selected to the Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Academic All-Conference team while junior Michelle Luttati (Westford, Mass.) was selected to the Women's Soccer Academic All-Conference team.
Bohonowicz played in all 22 of the Minutewomen's games, tallying 10 points on three goals and four assists for the field hockey team. She also recorded a team-high 33 shots. A 2002 Atlantic 10 Field Hockey All-Conference selection, Bohonowicz has maintained a 3.47 GPA as an economics major.
Bohonowicz was named to the NFHCA Division I National Academic squad in 2001 and 2000. She was also named to the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and UMass Director's Honor Roll her junior and sophomore years.
Monaco finished the season as UMass' third-leading scorer on the field hockey team, tallying nine points. The sophomore scored four goals on the year and dished out one assist. Monaco also recorded two game-winning goals, lifting UMass over Saint Joseph's and West Chester during the regular season. Monaco, who has maintained a 3.80 GPA, was named to the 2002 A-10 Field Hockey All-Conference team.
As a freshman, Monaco was named to the NFHCA Division I National Academic team. She was also named to the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll and the UMass Athletic Honor Roll in 2001. Last season Monaco was also honored for having the highest GPA on the UMass field hockey team when she was named to the Athletic Council Honor Roll.
Luttati started in 16 of the Minutewomen's 17 games this season, tallying one goal and one assist for three points for the UMass women's soccer team. The 1999 Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team and Soccer Buzz Northeast Region All-Freshman team selection has maintained a 3.86 GPA as a communications major.
Luttati, who was a 2000 second team Verizon Academic All-District I pick, has been on the Dean's List, UMass Athletic Director's Honor Roll and A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll each semester she has been in Amherst. Last season, the Westford, Mass., native was an A-10 All-Academic team pick and earned the UMass Athletic Council Honor Roll citation for having the highest GPA on the team.
Saint Joseph's Kathy Sokalski was named the A-10 Field Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year and Dayton's Stephanie Weisenfeld earned Women's Soccer Student-Athlete of the Year honors.
