Bonnie Kenny to Serve on AVCA Board of Directors

Amherst, Mass.- Head women's volleyball coach Bonnie Kenny was selected by her Division I colleagues to represent the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) on the board of directors. She has served as the head coach at UMass since 1993 and has accumulated a 160-107 (.599) record. Kenny has played an active role in the AVCA leadership. She has served on the AVCA All-American Selection Committee since 1999, and moved into the role of chairman for that committee this fall. She has served on the NCAA District I Ranking Committee since 1998. Kenny, who was named the Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year in 1996, currently is a voting member on the USA Today/AVCA Coaches Top 25 Poll.

Kenny, who begins her three-year term of office in January 2002, replaces Jim Bertoli (Indiana State University) as the Division I Board Representative.
