Women's Crew Wins Sixth Straight Verizon Atlantic 10 Championship

COLLINGSWOOD, N.J.--The University of Massachusetts women's crew team won its sixth straight Verizon Atlantic 10 Championship this afternoon on the Cooper River in Collingswood, N.J. UMass won three of 10 races and totalled 47 points.

The Minutewomen's Quad (7:48.90), Lightweight 4 (8:32.90), and Second Varisty 8 boats (7:02.87) each recorded first-place finishes. UMass also had two second-place finishes in the Novice 8 "B" (8:11.47) and Varsity 8 (7:08.23) races.

Head coach Jim Dietz has now won six conference titles in seven seasons at UMass.

The Minutewomen return to action on Saturday, May 5 when they travel to Syracuse, N.Y. for a tri-meet against Syracuse and Villanova.
