Women's Outdoor Track & Field Competes At Connecticut

STORRS, Conn. -- The University of Massachusetts women's outdoor track & field placed third out of five teams at the University of Connecticut this weekend. The Minutewomen placed in the top three in six events, but they couldn't catch host UConn, or second place Brown.
Freshman Molly Ketschek (Wilbraham, Mass.) won the 10,000-meter run (38:26.30) as teammate sophomore Julie McGee (Needham, Mass) placed third (40:57.22) . In the 400-meter intermediate hurdles, junior Jennifer Freemas (Wallingford, Penn.) took second place with a final time of 1:04.04. Senior Chrystal Murphy (Trenton, N.J.) placed second in the 100-meter high hurdles, finishing in 14.66. Also placing second in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 18:18.54 was senior Sharon Tillotson (Wantagh, N.Y.)
The 4x100 meter relay team placed third, finishing in 49.60.
The Minutewomen will resume next Sunday, April 29 at the Yale Invitational, starting at 11:00 a.m.
