UMass Crew Takes Two First-Place Finishes

PELHAM, N.Y.--The University of Massachusetts women's crew team rowed to two first place finishes in this afternoon's quad-meet against Navy, Northeastern and Columbia at Orchard Beach Lagoon in Pelham, N.Y.

The Second Varsity 8 boat led UMass for the third week in a row, winning its race in a time of 6:51.6. The Varsity 4 "B" boat also took first place, defeating Columbia in a time of 8:06.1

The Varsity 8 boat finished a tightly-contested race in fourth place, just over five seconds behind first-place Columbia.

The Minutewomen return to action on Saturday, April 28 when they travel to Camden, N.J. in an attempt to win their sixth straight Atlantic 10 Championship.
