UMass Dominates Fordham, 85-59

AMHERST, Mass. (AP) - Monty Mack scored 22 points and Jackie Rogers added 16 to lead Massachusetts to a runaway 85-59 victory over Fordham Saturday.
The win brought the Minutemen (10-10, 8-1 Atlantic 10) to the .500 mark after starting the season 2-9. It was their sixth straight win.
UMass entered the game tied with St. Joseph's and Xavier for first place in the conference.
The Minutemen led 42-24 at halftime and had little trouble keeping Fordham (11-10, 3-6) from mounting a threat. The Rams never came closer than 15 points in the second half, and shot just 31.3 percent from the field for the game.
Bevon Robin had 21 points and Duke Freeman-McKamey added 12 for Fordham, which dropped its fourth in a row. Jeff McMillan had a game-high 10 rebounds for Fordham.
Micah Brand had 10 points for UMass.
UMass took command early, opening the game with an 18-2 run. Mack hit three 3-pointers during the run, and Jonathan DePina finished the streak with a 3-pointer of his own. UMass finished the half 5-for-8 (62.5 percent) from 3-point range.
Mack had 14 points by halftime.
