BRONX, N.Y. -- The University of Massachusetts volleyball team (14-11 overall, 7-8 Atlantic 10) picked up its third consecutive A-10 Conference win as it swept Fordham, 3-0, this afternoon at Rose Hill Gym. Sophomore Nitia Small (Los Angeles, Calif.) recorded a game-high 16 kills and two digs to lead the Minutewomen.

UMass compiled a .299 hitting percentage on the afternoon as it won the three games by scores of 30-18, 30-21 and 30-27. Senior Lymarie Llovet (Arecibo, Puerto Rico) and junior Clare Baxter (Miami, Fla.) each picked up eight kills for the Maroon and White. Junior Jitka Stehnova (Odelena Voda, Czech Republic) had 34 assists, 20 digs and three blocks for UMass.

Senior Janeen DeMarte (El Paso, Texas) led the squad with three serving aces.

The Rams were led by sophomore Roxanne Hill, who notched 13 kills, eight digs and three blocks.

The Minutewomen will close out their regular season on Saturday, Nov. 10 when they host Duquesne at the Curry Hicks Cage. The match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
