Men's Tennis Stunned By Rhode Island, 6-1

KINGSTON, R.I. -- The University of Massachusetts men's tennis team (3-3) fell to Rhode Island, 6-1, this afternoon in Atlantic 10 action. The win for the Rams was their first over UMass in nine years.
The lone point of the day for the Minutemen came from the No. 1 singles position as senior Steve Prisco (Dedham, Mass.) beat URI's Bill Moran in straight sets (6-1, 6-4). Prisco is now 5-2 this season, including a 4-1 mark in dual matches.
The Minutemen will be off until Oct. 23, when they host rival UConn at 2:30 p.m.
