UMass Women's Tennis Downs Fordham 6-3

BRONX, N.Y. - The University of Massachusetts women's tennis team posted its second straight victory this afternoon, downing Fordham 6-3, to improve to 6-13 overall this season and 3-8 during the spring campaign.
UMass used a strong performance in the singles to propel itself to victory, winning all the matches from the No. 2 through No. 5 spots. Sophomore Helana Horak (Westlake Village, Calif.) posted a 6-0, 6-0 win over Alexandra Cazangiu at No. 2, while sophomore Annie Hamilton (Plano, Texas) downed Morgan Brinley 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 at No. 3. At No. 4, freshman Katie Stammen (North Attleboro, Mass.) defeated Emily Najour 6-2, 6-2, and at No. 5 junior Robyn Lebovitz (Marietta, Ga.) posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Meghan Womach. The Minutewomen also picked up two victories by default, at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles.
The Minutewomen are back in action tomorrow, Apr. 11, when they travel to Williams College for a 4:00 p.m. match.
