WEEK IN REVIEW: UMass played two matches last week in Florida, dropping both of them, to fall to 1-6 in the Spring and 4-11 overall this season. The Minutewomen fell 8-1 to Lynn on March 14th and fell 7-2 to Barry on March 16th.
UP NEXT: The Minutewomen will host Temple on April 1st at 12:00 p.m. at the Upper Boyden Tennis Courts.
LYNN RECAP: Freshman Katie Stammen (North Attleboro, Mass.) picked up the only victory for UMass at No. 4 singles. Stammen defeated Maria Alves, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.
BARRY RECAP: Senior Ola Gerasimova (Liatvia, Ridge, Russia) won at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-7 (7-5), 6-4 defeat of Jamie Margolis. The duo of Gerasimova and sophomore Annie Hamilton (Plano, Texas) were also victorious in the No. 1 doubles slot with a 8-4 win over Anna Hellbergson and Ashley Bradford.
HEAD COACH JUDY DIXON: Judy Dixon (Southern California `73), the 1999 USTA/New England Coach-of-the-Year, is in her eighth season with the Minutewomen. She currently stands at 83-56 while at UMass. Before coming to UMass, Dixon spent three seasons at Yale, where she was 40-14 overall.
