Amherst, Mass -- The University of Massachusetts volleyball team breezed by La Salle tonight, winning in three games (15-8, 15-11, 15-5). The win ups the Minutewomen to 7-10 overall and 4-4 in Atlantic-10 play.
For the second night in a row, junior Lymarie Llovet (Arecibo, Puerto Rico) led the Minutewomen with 11 kills, and added 12 digs. Senior Rebecca Hasson (Riverside, CA) added nine kills to pace the UMass offense. Sophomore Jen Davis (Ventura, CA) and junior Janeen DeMarte (El Paso, TX) were solid on defense, as each posted eight digs.
La Salle was led by Alma Kovaci's 10 kills, and Kelly Daniels' nine digs.
UMass is next in action on Tuesday, October 17, as they host area rival UConn at 7:00 p.m.
