Men's Water Polo Defeats Brown 25-9

AMHERST, Mass. - Senior Pat Kain (Ambler, Pa.), sophomore Mike Foley (Tustin, Calif.) and sophomore Adam Moore (Sinking Spring, Pa.) each scored five goals to lead the No. 13 University of Massachusetts men?s water polo team to a 25-9 win over Brown, at the CWPA (Collegiate Water Polo Association) Northern Division Tournament at Amherst College. UMass is now 6-1 overall (3-0 CWPA).
Senior Timmy Troupis (Athens, Greece) tallied three goals, while senior Rich Slingluff (Annapolis, Md.) and sophomore Greg Trayer (Reading, Pa.) each added two. Senior Scott Stevens (Edgewater, Md.), senior Ryan Gray (Santa Ana, Calif.) and junior Brook O?Neill (Annapolis, Md.) each scored once. Senior co-captain Richard Huntley (San Juan, Puerto Rico) was strong in goal with 14 saves. With the win, UMass is now 20-15 all-time against the Bears.
The Minutemen conclude the tournament against M.I.T. at 10:00 a.m., Sunday morning. UMass has dominated M.I.T with a 22-2 all-time series record.
