Women's Soccer Falls To St. Bonaventure, 1-0

Amherst, Mass. - Kelly Nagy?s first half goal was all St. Bonaventure needed to defeat UMass 1-0 in women?s collegiate soccer action today at Totman Field. Despite outshooting the Bonnies 17-9, UMass could not get one across the goal line. UMass falls to 11-4-1 on the year, and 9-2 in the Atlantic 10, while St. Bonaventure improves to 9-7-3 overall and 5-4-2 in the Atlantic 10.
Nagy scored the goal on a shot past UMass keeper Angie Napoli (Longmeadow, Mass.) at 27:38. UMass dominated play in the second half and despite numerous opportunities, the Minutewomen were unable to score. Bonnies keeper Karen Cunningham made 10 saves on the afternoon, posting the only shutout of UMass the entire season.
UMass will next play in the Atlantic 10 Tournament, hosted by UMass next weekend. Seedings will be posted upon completion of the remaining games on the Atlantic 10 schedule this afternoon.
