Mikayla Hudson was promoted to Assistant Director of Learning Enhancement in December 2022 after joining the UMass Academic Success staff in the Fall of 2021 as a Learning Specialist and Tutor Coordinator.
Hudson is responsible for administering and implementing programs and services designed to meet the needs of student-athletes diagnosed with specific learning disabilities and/or considered to be at risk academically. Additionally, she is the academic counselor for Women’s Lacrosse, the Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving team and a caseload of football student-athletes. Hudson oversees the tutoring program for athletics, working with the student-athlete population on scheduling and pairing student-athletes with subject-specific tutors.
Prior to her role at UMass, Hudson worked at Boston College as an Assistant Learning Specialist with Men’s Basketball and football student athletes. Prior to BC, she interned at the University of Maryland working primarily with at-risk football student-athletes
Hudson earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut in Communication in 2016, where she was a member of the Varsity Women’s Rowing team for four years. She went on to earn her master’s degree at UConn in Sport Management where she interned in the Student Athlete Success Program.
