Matthew Bell is in his first season as the coordinator of business development for Learfield's UMass Sports Properties team during the 2017-18 school year. In his current role, Bell will work closely with general manager Andrew Stuebner and manager of business development Zac Wilken in all aspects of the extensive rights relationship between Learfield and UMass Athletics.
Bell previously worked with the UMass Athletics Sales & Fan Experience team from June - November, 2017 as the game operations coordinator. In his prior roll, Bell oversaw the creation and execution of the Commonwealth Club concept at home football games. Simultaneously, Bell assisted in the script writing and in-game promotions at football, hockey, men’s basketball and women’s basketball home contests.
Prior to his arrival in Amherst, Bell filled a graduate assistant role within the Providence College Athletic Department for two years. At Providence, Bell served as the primary marketing contact for women’s basketball and secondary liaison for men’s basketball. Additionally, he assisted with productions at hockey and Olympic sports events, while Bell was also a member of the team that planned and executed Late Night Madness.
Bell graduated from Springfield College with a sports management degree in 2015. He continued his education at Providence College, where Bell received an MBA in 2017.
