Sarah Shaw enters her fourth season in Amherst in 2024-25 as the Director of Scouting & Video Operations for the UMass women's basketball program after joining in 2021. Shaw arrived at UMass from Colgate, where she served as the Raiders' Director of Basketball Operations.
Shaw is responsible for coordinating all video aspects of scouting and preparation for opponents, film exchange, as well as various other support duties within the team. She will also help coordinate summer camp programs and events.
Shaw handled team social media, travel arrangements, and film exchange in addition to assisting with the coordination of community engagements for the team at Colgate. Prior to arriving at Colgate, Shaw was an assistant coach at Elmira College for two seasons. Shaw was promoted in her second season and picked up the role of recruiting coordinator in addition to managing practice planning, scouting reports, team video, and film sessions.
Shaw got her first assistant coaching job at Bridgewater State in 2018 and helped coach the Bears to a MASCAC Tournament semifinals appearance in addition to coaching Kailyn Aguilar to first-team all-conference honors and seven athletes to all-academic team laurels.
The Franklin, Massachusetts native spent four years as a student-athlete at Hartwick College, where she was named to the Empire 8 Sportswoman of the Year.
Shaw graduated from Hartwick in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and completed her master’s in Management at Elmira in 2021.
