Jordan “Jordy” O’Connor joined the University of Massachusetts football staff in early 2026 as a linebackers graduate assistant. O’Connor arrived in Amherst after spending time as a defensive graduate assistant at Austin Peay.
At Austin Peay, O’Connor was an assistant to the defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach. He helped with opponent scouting and data analytics, facilitated and organized scout teams and was the assistant video coordinator.
Prior to his time with Austin Peay, O’Connor spent a season at Tennessee Tech as the defensive graduate assistant. There, he ran opponent scouting and data analytics, while helping with the scout team. He also was the assistant for the Director for football Operations and equipment.
O’Connor was the special teams quality control at Gardner-Webb for the 2023 season, assisting the special teams coordinator. He also the specialist position coach and guiding the special team data analytics.
O’Connor played three seasons at Hobart College (DIII) as the long snapper/short snapper. There, he attended both the 2021 and 2022 ECAC Asa S. Bushnell Bowl with Hobart and was a Fall 2022 National Football Foundation Scholar. He was also a two-time Liberty League All-Academic honoree.
The Fairport, New York, native graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in colonial history in May 2023.
