Defensive Analyst

Costa Karellas joined the University of Massachusetts football staff prior to the 2018 season. Karellas works as a defensive analyst for the team who primarily assists with the linebackers.

Currently a Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, Lt. Karellas is a Combat Engineer Officer. Serving as a Platoon Commander at Marine Wing Support Squadron 472-Bravo, Lt. Karellas is responsible for the training of 36 Junior Marines ensuring combat readiness and mission accomplishment.

Karellas graduated a leadership development program and became a well site leader for an international oil drilling company in the Gulf of Mexico. As a well site leader, Karellas was responsible for the delivery of safe and reliable wells on ultra-deepwater drill ships on many of the largest offshore drilling operations in the world.

Costa graduated Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a degree in International Maritime Business and a minor in Energy Management. He is a native of Milton, Massachusetts.
