Congratulations to the women's soccer team on its pair of shutout victories over the weekend, which included a 1-0 defeat of perennial New England power Boston University on the road Friday night, followed by a 2-0 victory over New Hampshire yesterday on Rudd. The Minutewomen will be looking to push the streak to three when the squad plays at Brown on Thursday in a match that has been moved to 4 p.m. from 7 p.m.
Senior Emily Cota was awarded for her efforts in net as Atlantic 10 Player of the Week and UMass Athlete of the Week.

Also, the NCAA released the first RPI report of the 2011 season this morning, which has the Minutewomen in the No. 61 spot out of 322 Division I teams. UMass is currently ranked No. 8 in the Mid-Atlantic Region by the NSCAA in the latest poll that was released yesterday.

Women's soccer picked up a pair of important Atlantic 10 victories this weekend, a dominant 5-0 win over Temple on Friday and a thrilling 1-0 overtime win against Saint Joseph's on Sunday.

The Massachusetts women's soccer team will return to action on the road as it travels to play against Atlantic 10 conference opponent Rhode Island on Sunday.
Both UMass (5-8-0, 2-2-0 in A-10) and URI (1-11-1, 1-3-0 in A-10) are coming off losses via the shutout. The Rams closed out their non-conference schedule on Wednesday afternoon with a 3-0 loss to Brown.
