Women's Lax Season Comes To An End At Loyola In NCAA 1st Round

The No. 13 UMass women's lacrosse team fell 14-7 on Saturday afternoon at No. 5 and sixth-seeded Loyola on Saturday afternoon in the NCAA First Round. Haley Smith led UMass with a pair of goals, while Katie Florence made nine saves in goal. Meg Decker led all players with five goals as the Greyhounds will head to North Carolina next Saturday.

The Minutewomen finished the season 17-3 overall - the second most wins in program history.

Jackie Lyons scored her 200th career point at UMass as the No. 15 women's lacrosse team dominated George Washington 21-6 on Friday afternoon at McGuirk Stadium. The win sets up Sunday's match-up against Richmond that will determine the Atlantic 10's No. 1 seed in the upcoming tournament as well as the 2011 Regular-Season Champion.

The No. 12 UMass women's lacrosse team dropped a 17-7 decision to No. 2 Northwestern on Saturday night in front of 1,013 fans under the lights of McGuirk Stadium.
