Women's Track & Field Alumna Takes Silver At WMA Outdoor Championship

UMass women's track and field alumna Jen (Waeger) St. Jean '96 has been in action the World Masters Athletics Outdoor Championships in Lyon, France, this week, running in the Women's 40 section of the 1500m run.

In Wednesday's preliminaries, St. Jean blew away the field, running the event in 4 minutes, 41.43 seconds, nearly 10 seconds faster than the next closest runner. 

Then in today's final, St. Jean claimed Silver in the event with a time of 4 minutes, 37.08 seconds, just shy of Great Britain's Louise Rudd's winning time of 4:36.70.
