A special night was made historic as senior Michael Marcou scored the game-winner overtime goal on Saturday using his Fenway magic to give UMass a 3-2 win over Vermont in Frozen Fenway 2012. Jeff Teglia earned his first career win as the Minutemen played in front of a crowd of over 38,000 fans - the largest to ever see a UMass hockey game.

Dick Baker has four nice posts in his hockey blog on MassLive.com as the Minutemen's preseason camp continues to progress. Hockey East will host Media Day next Wednesday at the TD Bank Garden to officially kick-off the season. A reminder that next Saturday at 3 PM fans can get a glimpse of the team as the Minutemen host New Brunswick at the practice rink in an exhibition game at 3 PM. Following the game will be the ever-popular Skate With The Minutemen where fans can get to know the team and the coaches.
As I perform my morning duty of finding tidbits of news and notes for UMass fans, I stumbled upon this video of incoming hockey goalie Jeff Teglia. In it, he makes a ridiculous cross-crease diving save while on a penalty kill.
