The United States Field Hockey National Program announced its 18-woman roster for the Hockey World League Semifinals Tuesday, with former UMass standout goalkeeper Alesha Widdall and current volunteer assistant coach Melissa Gonzalez among those chosen.

Hockey World League Semifinals run from June 10-21 in Valenvia, Spain. With two pools of five teams, Team USA will match up with Germany, Ireland, Uruguay and South Africa. The USWNT is set to play Uruguay in their first pool game on Thursday, June 11 at 7: 00 a.m. EST.

University of Massachusetts field hockey graduate Alesha Widdall (2008-11) and current staff volunteer assistant Melissa Gonzalez provided boosts to Team USA as the national team defeated Ireland, 3-0 for the second consecutive time.

In Tuesday evening's contest, Widdall backstopped the squad with a shutdown performance in the cage while Gonzalez provided a boost on the attack. The duo, alongside U.S. teammate and UMass alumna Hannah Prince (2010-13) have one more exhibition contest against the Irish on Thursday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m. Read a recap and see photos from Tuesday's game below:

University of Massachusetts field hockey alumna Hannah Prince (2011-14) and current volunteer assistant coach Melissa Gonzalez took to the field at Team USA's training facility in Lancaster, Pa., for the first game in a friendly series with the Irish National Team Monday evening. The U.S. outpaced Ireland and earned a 3-0 victory. Game two is set for Tuesday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. and the third contest in the series follows on Thursday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m.
