Frank Corona of The Daily Collegian caught up with Coach LaFreniere, Coach O'Brien and Rachel Hilliard in this week's cross country article recapping the Atlantic 10 Championship.
The Daily Collegian's Frank Corona wrote an article previewing the 2013 Cross Country Atlantic Championship taking place in Richmond, Va. this Saturday.
Arthur Hayden of the Daily Collegian has a recap of the UMass women's cross country team tying for first at the CCSU Mini-Meet along No. 4 Providence over the weekend.
Just weeks after earning All-Conference honors at the A-10 Championships, Antony Taylor was honored as the online winner for the 2012 FloTrack Stashies at Nashies Awards for his mustache.

Take a look at the feature story on Rachel Hilliard's success in the classroom and in athletics written by Jackson Alexander of The Dailey Collegian. The feature also includes an interview with the head coach of the women's cross country and track and field teams Julie LaFreniere.
Massachusetts women's track and field coach Julie LaFreniere received an e-mail in mid-March that perplexed her.
The e-mail, from the academic services within the athletic department, notified her that all women's sophomore track and field athletes could sign up for fall courses.
But on the list was freshman cross country and track and field athlete, Rachel Hilliard.
Matt Stewart has a great feature on cross country graduate student Sean Duncan, in the Sentinel Enterprise. With a time of 24:44.0, the Gardner, Mass native placed eighth overall, while garnering All-Conference recognition. As a team, UMass placed fifth in a field of 14 conference squads.
"UMass (127 points) rounded out the top five in the nine-team conference, just finishing behind fourth place Dayton (119 points)," writes Stewart.
The Queens Courier out of Queens, N.Y. has a great full page feature story on senior Karen Roa. The Jamaica, N.Y. native has been UMass' top harrier in 2011, taking first place on the team in four meets, while garnering one A-10 Female Cross Country Performer of the Week Award.

The women's cross country squad is heading to Warwick, R.I. this weekend for the Rothenberg race slated to start at 3:40 pm on Friday, while the men head to Fayetteville, Ark. for the Chili Pepper Festival at 9:45 am on Saturday.
"After both competing in the same place at last week's New England Championships, the Massachusetts men's and women's cross country teams are traveling to two very different locations for meets this time around" writes Ben Lambert.
