Former UMass standout Chaz Williams has joined the Delaware 87ers of the NBA Development League. The Philadelphia 76ers affiliate acquired the point guard from the available player pool after he was released by the Maine Red Claws earlier this month.
While the team's next game is Friday night against Erie at home in UD's Bob Carpenter Center, he is on the inactive list and may not see action in the team's final five games.
Williams saw action in three games for the Red Claws, where he averaged 4.7 points and 6.3 assists in 19.2 minutes per game.
Prior to that, he averaged 10.4 points and 2.0 assists in 22.8 mpg in five outings with Eskishehir Basket in the Turkish Basketball League.
