Allen, who was originally called up to play in the NHL with the Rangers last season, made his NHL debut on Dec. 29, 2013, against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Allen becomes the fifth former Minuteman active in the NHL this season, joining Jonathan Quick (Los Angeles), Justin Braun (San Jose), Matt Irwin (San Jose) and Kostka.

The New York Rangers announced on Sunday that the squad has called up former Minuteman Conor Allen. Allen joins fellow UMass hockey alum Mike Kostka, who is also currently with the Rangers.
